I asked myself a question a few weeks ago:
"Is it possible to have a tilt at political life while harbouring little or no political ambition, no membership of a political party and absolutely no budget available to invest in this little folly?"
Then a thought struck me - use the internets! Its what all the kids are into! Harness the power of web 2.0 and get enough attention to propel me into the stratospheric heights of political life.
So it is without further ado, that I announce the commencement of my campaign to get elected to the Legislative Council of the Parliament of the Colony of NSW!!
It all makes sense: no need to limit my charm to a single electorate, I can go state wide! Let's face I'm know throughout the length and breadth of this wide brown land. I just need to get all my friends to tell their friends to stick a '1' next to my name on the ridiculously wide ballot paper on election day in 2015!
I am being enjoined in this enterprise by my teaching colleague Matt Bower. When I told him of my crazy scheme he just shrugged his shoulders and said "sure, why not!".
